Jeremiah is the son of a pastor and a high school teacher who moved to Kearney, MO in the fifth grade. His new classmate, Tim Gaull (now Shepard), welcomed him, and they became fast friends. As they grew up, their faith and shared values kept them united. They longed to see their communities become more like the upside-down Kingdom Jesus described – a place where the last are first, where all people have value, and where none are in need.
